Theme Zone Sector

From Riseopedia

A sector is a large multi-kilometer spanning sky arcology.

Usually these are seen together with other sky arcologies (a Hub and 3 sectors), a cloud gate and sky infrastructure to form a Theme Zone.

Administratively, the surface of a sector is divided into 4 districts and each district is subdivided into 3 townships.

Interactable features are spread across the surface and beneath it. See "Features".

Features

Features are interactable content that allows characters to interface with different in-world systems found in a Sector.

History

Theme Zone Sectors were conceptualised, designed and first built somewhere between 1906 (discovery of genesium) and prior to 1962 (start of Calido Sector refurbishment into Calido Valley mega dome).

As of this time it is not known if new sector domes are being actively built anywhere in the world, if new ones are prohibitively expensive to build nowadays or if the know-how to build them has been lost.

Composition

A Theme Zone Sector follows the usual design principles of sky arcologies.

Dome

The Dome is the top section of a sector. Powered by quantum shielding technology, the Dome offers protection, climate control and is transparent to allow unobstructed views and sunlight.

Surface

The Surface of the sector is the midsection of the sky arcology. It holds a disk of soil with unknown depth that is sculpted to hold Mountains, hills, plains, rivers, lakes and any terrain feature in between.

Depending on the “theme” of the “zone” the sector dome is located in, the ecosystem of the sector (landscape, flora, fauna and environment conditions) is custom designed to fit a “theme”.

The surface is administratively divided into 4 districts and each district is subdivided into 3 townships.

Underside

The underside is the bottom section of a sector.

It houses the utilitarian part of this type of sky arcology. Here we can find internal and external transportation infrastructure, telecommunications arrays, as well as the technical equipment needed to keep the sector in the sky, upkeep the environment on the surface and generate the shield protecting it.

Hangar Bay

Exterior transport of people and cargo arrive and depart from here.

Sector Metro System

Between the surface section and the underside there’s a metro system connecting the towns on the surface.
