Sky Arcology
A sky arcology is an unofficial and informal term that defines under its umbrella a technological construction that is able to hover at high altitudes, carries a surface and is equipped to provide environmental conditions suitable for human habitation.
In most cases the surface and the environment is encapsulated in shields giving most of these constructs the semblance of domes. That's why in popular culture these are collectively called "domes".
The underbelly of the sky arcologies is usually reserved for engineering, technical equipment, internal transportation and exterior landing bays.
In most circumstances we can observe a few Sky Infrastructure objects and a Cloud Gate around the sky arcology to provide additional support.
Sky arcologies come in different sizes, from a few square meters to gargantuan city-sized.
