Home Bubble
A “Home Bubble” is a defunct and cancelled sky arcology real estate development in the Cornucopias Region.
These cancelled developments were zoned to be used as small single residential unit sky arcologies that would have helped to house the citizens involved in the running of the Theme Zones.
Description
These had interesting shield emitters that made the covering dome look more like a globe or bubble, hence the colloquial name of "home bubbles".
Theory
While details are minimal about the project, it is presumed that the Government of the Cornucopias Republic went ahead with a counter proposal from Skyland Real Estate where investments would be made to upgrade the Theme Zone Hub domes to house the citizens working in the Sector Domes of the Theme Zone instead of spreading them around. Skyland Real Estate moved fast with their Theme Zone Hub Apartments project and it eclipsed the Home Bubble Project.
The Home Bubble proposal was dismissed as being expensive and inefficient, even though a marketing campaign was started to present these to cornucopian citizens and to arrivals.
Only prototypes were constructed, but none are available to the public to visit. There are rumours that the prototypes have been demolished as well with only the marketing material existing as evidence of their existence.
It’s unknown if the real estate development was under Skyland Real Estate or a rival company.
"Two trees and a hammock"
The marketing campaign for the home bubble was the origin of the phrase "two trees and a hammock".
