Max Lachance
Max Lachance (1928 - ????) was a famous male human race driver, gen core engineer, vehicle designer, entrepreneur and historical figure from Texas who was known for founding Full Speed Repair in San Francisco and refurbishing an old sector dome into Calido Valley between 1966 - 1969.
Early Life
Max Lachance was born in Texas, Cornucopias Earth in 1928. He was fascinated with flying vehicles, most notably the Bubblejett Prima.
Studies
His fascination for the gen-core tech and flying vehicles led him to enroll in the Texas Institute of Aviation and Technology and get a degree there, presumably in gen-cores.
Racing Career
During his time at the Institute he also participated in the unregulated and highly perilous Canyon Racing.
He dominated the Midwest racing scene.
After graduation he continued to pursue a race driver career.
Business Career
With money collected from his racing wins, Max Lachance founded Full Speed Repair in San Francisco, Cornucopias Earth, a mechanics shop serving mostly clients involved in racing.
Legislative Contributions
Being involved in the most difficult races, Max Lachance developed an intimate understanding of the safety needs he and his fellow drivers would require.
He was a tireless lobbyist, constantly pushing for regulation and legislation. This endeavour made possible the G-Core Safety and Protection Act as well as other legislation and regulation.
His guiding hand in this field shaped the racing sport into what it is today.
Father of Calido Valley
Max Lachance pursued a dream to create the perfect environment for vehicle racing. After a long career in and around the sport he came to the conclusion that only a custom solution where he could fine tune all variables would be the only true option.
In 1966 he acquired a sector dome used for junk storage and sorting. Over the next four years he tirelessly worked and poured money into what would become Calido Valley Raceway.
In 1969 work on the Raceway was at a point where the first races could be held and during that year the inaugural race with Max Lachance participating was held.
Calido Valley and its Raceway would continue to evolve together with the sport it houses and represents another way Max Lachance has contributed to the sport.
Legacy
Max Lachance is one of the major figures of the flying vehicle racing sport. As a driver, engineer, business owner and visionary in regulation and track design his name is forever tied to the sport and its current form.
