We've got a update on the apartment builder, update on Rise Rewards, a little bit on marketing, um the Node Summit, kind of a quick recap, uh some um we we've got some game content to discuss and a special guest will be on as well today. Let's kick it off. 00:01:50 - 00:02:18 So, the apartment builder, I've been getting some great reports. Um, well, first of all, let me just contextualize this for everyone. You know, we had great momentum. Thought we were going to deliver this near the end of the year, but as things come together, uh, critical systems, there's there's just so much in play uh, for this one. This is a big big hurdle. 00:02:11 - 00:02:36 uh and we had to get a lot of the team involved in in various different areas to really figure out how are we going to do this in a performant way. I think that was one of the main challenges. There's so many items in each apartment that have to get stored and uh you know it has to be assigned its position and and uh when the player comes in. 00:02:32 - 00:02:53 So we had a lot of problems to solve. This hasn't been done uh in the way that we're doing it before and so we had to come up with a very creative solution and I think we've we've done that. I'm hearing great reports on the database work uh and and how the process and how it's going to flow. 00:02:48 - 00:03:13 We're now at a point where uh that's come together and the builder itself and how it works is getting put into builds either today or it was put in yesterday I think. But then uh they made a few fixes that's getting put in. Uh so we now just need to start testing and um really a lot of testing is where we're at with that. 00:03:07 - 00:03:36 So, we're looking good um for the next build, which will be the apartment build. Um would you >> Yeah, I that's that's been there. We like I say, we we were we thought we were ready, but the the performance the performance wasn't there. It really needed more to cook and and actually it needed um it needed a a complete look at the at the architecture as well. 00:03:32 - 00:03:59 So, so we're actually bringing a instead of loading from the from the cloud server, we're actually adding a layer of of of databases actually on the server themselves, a local one that will synchronize in. So, it has been a a major undertaking, but I mean the performance now is is really good and and so so that that's where we're at. 00:03:55 - 00:04:22 There is some it is a major uh it's a major piece of development. It's very very complex, but um that also gives us time to to update the interface. I've I've had a I've had a quick play with with with the builder a few weeks ago. Um and I know in the the release that we've got waiting at the moment that there's there's there's been a lot more updates in there as well. 00:04:16 - 00:04:47 So yeah, I mean the the the longer these things take to cook, you know, the better the results really. >> But we are we could we could release it when whenever. But yeah, like I say, it does look pretty good for the for the next release. >> Yeah. And then next up, you'll be customizing your living space and how you want to present yourself to the world. uh where you live and and where you start your day in Infinity Rising. And then you get to do the same if you're a landholder with uh what it is and how you're going to participate in the economy. 00:05:07 - 00:05:27 Whether you're a landholder or not, you still get to participate in the economy and in the game in so many different ways. We just empower the players uh to really present who they are in the world and how they're going to participate in the world. Um, I had a demo today um of the new elevators. I don't know if you've seen that. >> No, but I've been hearing and reading about them. So, >> yeah, that definitely a future leak. It's like, why do we need elevators? Well, when you see them, that's why cuz they're cool. 00:06:07 - 00:06:28 >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And anything that's moving is actually quite difficult in a multiplayer game where it's all replicated and stuff. But, um, yeah, the and they can be really annoying. Just like in real life, you can get in and somebody can press a top button and then you can go and press all the others and it will stop on every single one. 00:06:25 - 00:06:46 >> Oh my gosh, no. Uh yeah, that is one of the Have you ever gotten on an elevator where a kid had done that? >> I can't. >> You get on and every floor is pressed and nobody's on there and you're like, "What's happening?" >> Yeah, >> you've probably done it. >> That is usually me. [laughter] >> All right. 00:06:42 - 00:07:06 Um well, that's the apartment builder update. Exciting stuff there. It's going to be fun. I can't wait. And um yeah, I'm looking forward to get the next build and and test it out myself. So, uh next up we have the Rise Rewards. So, uh we've talked about this in a tokconomics paper that was uh published a while back. 00:07:01 - 00:07:35 Uh and and Ben has since answered a lot of the questions on the tokconomics doc. If you haven't seen those, um they were answered in line where a lot of you guys asked them in that channel that we created for that. Um, but but basically the rewards I'm talking about are for the playerowned asset holders. So if you have playerowned assets and you participate in certain activities in the game, uh, I believe we're going to start with a trails to keep it simple. 00:07:30 - 00:07:55 Um, so you participate in narrow trails. You uh by doing certain things, and I'm not going to speak speak specifics, but let's just say you place really well on the leaderboard, that could earn you some uh degree of infinity token, which translates into the Rise token that you'd be able to claim from your account. 00:07:50 - 00:08:25 Um, and so we're working through that process. Ben, you and I have done a decent amount of com conversation and meeting around it. Um, Ben puts together some templates to uh assign the rules. We've talked to the uh team to Greg and Jeff about how to translate that into central admin database, things like that. Um, so we're moving forward with that and I don't it it could potentially, this is not a um a definite, but it could potentially make the next build. 00:08:20 - 00:08:48 Um, so it just kind of depends on how how things go with that conversation. We're trying to keep it super simple and just don't get too excited there. We're going to start with incredibly small rewards. And the reason for that is because we just want to dip our toe in the water. See what you guys how you react, how you know what how's it happening, how's it working, what's the feedback, and then we can gradually grow from there. 00:08:44 - 00:09:11 Because what we don't want to do is have large rewards and a system that's jacked up and emotions are high and we've just got a bunch of conflict. So, we're going to start nice and easy. Uh but it is exciting because it's moving in that direction of um you know having the players be able to participate with rewards that are based upon some of the player owned assets they hold and um I think it's pretty exciting. 00:09:06 - 00:09:39 What about you? >> Yeah. Can I can I just just go over some of that terminology you said again because you were talking about tokens and all that kind of stuff and I I don't want absolutely yes confused with anything. >> Please do. So, in the game, there's there's multiple forms of in-game currency. One of them is obviously you go and get credits within the game and then you swap them in in in the banks and you end up with IGC, as we call it, in-game currency. 00:09:35 - 00:10:08 XP can also be seen as a form of in-game currency. In in a way, it's it's held the same way. But what we're what we're also talking about is you mentioned infinity there. So infinity token is also an in-game currency which is very similar to XP. So [snorts] as you're earning XP, we will also have it's just basically a total. 00:10:00 - 00:10:32 We will also have a an amount of infinity token as you call it or infinity XP. So they'll be running alongside each other. As you're earning XP, you'll probably be earning the same. And it will be that infinity total that you will then be able to swap for a cryptocurrency which is Rise in in the future. 00:10:26 - 00:11:04 So even I made a bit of a bit of a hash out of that. But yeah, we've only got one cryptocurrency which is Rise. Everything else is is in-game mechanics. >> Yes. And this is uh this is a lot of what we've been working there's been a lot of planning around all of this uh how do we you know do it in the right way um and uh keep it regulatory compliant and just all you know how how do we manage this complexity in a way that uh makes sense um you know ideally to the players and you know we got to keep it fun. So I love it. 00:11:01 - 00:11:30 It's exciting. We're going to move forward with that. Can't wait to get it in your hands and um yeah uh explain that in the future, but it'll be something like, you know, if if you do an arrow trails and you score 3,000 XP, then you'll probably score 3,000 infinity points as as well. And if you're wearing um like a PA jetpack, then maybe you'll get a 1. 00:11:23 - 00:11:51 2 or 1.3 multiplier. So, it'll be it'll be something like that. But we're not quite landed on on how the the maths and the formula works. Then eventually you'll have this big total of infinity points which will then be able to press a button and say, "Yeah, let's swap that for for the >> Yes. No joke, you me been two years ago." >> Yeah. >> Even uh so it's just been a long time coming. a lot of planning and a lot of things just have to get in place and things get repprioritized because we there's only so much you can do. So um that's what I'm hoping. We'll see. Not not guaranteed. Um all right. Next up, we have uh well, let's talk a little bit about some some marketing systems. We've been testing um ads funnels uh to drive traffic to um the uh form on our website, which is capturing information uh from people to to to uh choose who gets early access to the game. 00:12:45 - 00:13:13 Um, and that is the numbers and we're using our trailer and uh some some good ad copy. The numbers from that are astounding. Like we're not even spending a lot on it and we're we're really blown away by how well it's working. Um, so ads wise and trailer props props to the trailer I guess you know and and to marketing team we're targeting in the right direction. 00:13:10 - 00:13:38 Um, >> can we share some of those numbers because I I do know the number. >> Yeah. Yeah, I know the number as well. So, we've got 3,500 on the weight list. That's that's gone up. That's going well. And then I forget the number on the number of forms that have been filled out. Um, but >> I remember the push back months ago when cuz Matt put in Discord, you know, we've got 200 people here on on the wish list. 00:13:36 - 00:14:04 You know, we we need more support. >> No, it was a thousand at that time or something, but Matt was Yeah, Matt was trying to egg the community on a little bit, but I think Um and and it's good. You you guys did a phenomenal job of filling that up quick. Um however, then we've started testing ads directly to the weight list uh and also ads to the form and both sides are are working really really well. 00:13:59 - 00:14:25 So what that means is as we choose to scale up those uh the budget for those ad campaigns, we can drive enough traffic to get you know the 50,000 the 200,000 weight lists that we want to have. uh for the alpha launch. Uh so we we actually have real visibility to getting to the numbers we want to get to. >> Yeah. 00:14:22 - 00:14:43 You don't you don't want to throw tons of money at the start while you just do the AB testing as they say. But >> we're getting close to landing on that formula where we can open up the >> Yeah, exactly. You you start off with ad spend small, you tweak, you refine, you test your target audience, you test your copy, you test your images. 00:14:38 - 00:15:00 Uh the split testing of those combined shows you which ones you really want to push with greater budgets and then you ramp up your budgets and then you see how that that's working with a ramped up budget. Um so yeah, it's going to be um it's going to be good. I'm I'm really pumped about this for marketing. 00:14:56 - 00:15:24 Also on marketing, this is a little leak uh a little mini leak. We've got a new show coming out called Origin Point. We're not too far off from that. >> We're retiring. [laughter] No, no, no. Cafe Rise uh continues on. Origin Point is going to be a little bit different angle. Uh it's going to be meeting some of the team and the devs and things of that nature. 00:15:19 - 00:15:47 Uh but um I can't announce the date on that. Um but it's uh pretty soon. I'd say within two weeks you should see something like that. Um so uh that's going on. And part of the the the strategy behind that is we've got to have more of the devs and more behind the scenes happening um what's happening uh to build the game. 00:15:43 - 00:16:13 And what that means is we'll have long- form shows where we can break apart a lot of content just like we can with, you know, Cafe Rise and put that on Tik Tok and Twitch and different channels that in in micro content uh that hopefully gets us even more traction towards those campaigns, the the pre-alpha page uh or the uh the sign up form on the website to get early access uh and and the weight list building. 00:16:10 - 00:16:31 Uh these are all the things that we're doing to try to really build up momentum towards the alpha launch. So excit like on the weeks where where we kind of miss our episode, there'll always be content coming out. So that's good. >> Yes. Yes. And some people have asked about how often we're going to do Cafe Rise. You know, the goal was originally weekly. Um, we want to strive to do on a weekly, but I think it's going to be more like every other week. Um, something like that. Uh, but you know, we want to we want to do it as often as we can. Yeah, as often as we can. 00:17:02 - 00:18:03 Um but we also have so so much that we have to deliver on and we want to deliver on this year. there is a lot and so we want to deliver uh it's really about how aggressively can we deliver and how aggressively can we communicate what we're delivering and the two of those kind of have to balance and kind of go back and forth a bit and and a lot of things have sped up because we've really gotten uh a lot of foundational planning has been laid which enables us to start executing in a lot of areas and uh it's probably speeding up quicker than we really anticipated um which is good But yeah, there's a balance there. So, okay, that covers the marketing. Uh, I mean, actually, there's a lot more on marketing I can talk about, but we maybe we can have Matt on a show in the future because there's there's a good amount of stuff happening. Um, I think we should move to Node Summit. Um, we had the Node Summit. >> Yep. Two weeks ago. 00:18:01 - 00:18:22 >> Yeah. I thought it went I thought it went really well. Um, good feedback uh from everybody prior to the summit. the summit was more of just let's present um you know what the roadmap is and what we're going to do with nodes and um just really an effort to make that first step in in more regular communication. 00:18:17 - 00:18:43 The the idea there is that we'll do one uh quarterly. Um and just to you know as our measure of the responsibility we take to communicating with the people that are helping operate our infrastructure, delegate to our infrastructure, support the infrastructure that's helping uh onboard new users to the game. 00:18:39 - 00:19:01 Um that's an important element and we we have a responsibility. We want to communicate with you guys and we also listen. So there's there's some feedback that we've gotten from from quite a few that is being taken taken and and being implemented. Uh so so that's a good thing um as well. I I don't know what else you would add. 00:18:59 - 00:19:27 >> Yeah, I mean I mean the main takes out of that I mean I I see this project as you know a number of different pillars. one of them being being obviously the main game and and the other is the nodes, how we deliver the game and what what Greg shared in there was the road map of of of the current file nodes, some of the updates that we're going to do to improve those in the future because we we know they're not ideal. 00:19:22 - 00:19:58 Um but we we are building up to to more and more volume and and also there's some I suppose some of the key takes takeouts is to run a public node. We lowered that from having to own eight nodes to six nodes now. So so six nodes will get you the ability to run your own public node which means you can get delegates and you can get extra rewards um off off their delegations. 00:19:50 - 00:20:23 Um, we also announced that we're we're um developing server nodes. Whether they will they will come out or not. I mean, we're hoping they are. So, so that will be another type of node, but that's not for everyone. The these these, you know, if you prove yourself as as you can you can host the the file nodes, you you'll then be able to to ascend into into doing the server nodes should you wish to. 00:20:17 - 00:20:46 Um and and I suppose another key note for those that are not interested in nodes, we also announced that custom domes that those will work on nodes as well. So the idea of creating the server nodes is that the the node itself will actually be run on the on the community infrastructure, the the the public node infrastructure. 00:20:41 - 00:21:13 So server node operators will be able to to to rent out their space. the custom dome owners, which in itself is is a leak to say, you know, we we are starting work on custom domes, >> which, you know, which is which is was tremendous really. The the quests at the moment are are very linear. So So So what we've done is we are experimenting with breaking them up to have some of them more discoverable. One or two of them may flow into each other. 00:22:30 - 00:23:01 Um whether that will make the next release or not, I don't know. It's just been ret it's just been released internally. So, we'll have to see if that kind of works. We don't really want to go and chop up some of the audio if if if putting it all back together takes too long. Um but but I think it looks I I think it works quite well where you just go to an area and you kind of see a marker and and rather than being led. 00:22:56 - 00:23:28 Um so so that's coming. But we're we're also adding another aerot trails zone into into the pavilion. So that's been built. That's a nice starter um course. And again that that kind of leads into the quests where that whole area is almost like an on boarding area. So rather before you adventure into Solace, you can get a good taste of it because I think I think the air trails that's in the cities is is quite difficult. 00:23:23 - 00:23:52 Whereas the one in the in the glimpse of Esparanza, that that's quite easy because that's that's just goes around in a circle. Uh we're experimenting with quest chains as well. So what quest chains are is you start off say you you go through 10 trails and that and that makes you a rookie and then that automatically goes to to stage two of of of that quest and stage three, stage four, fly through more. 00:23:47 - 00:24:15 And the and the idea of this is eventually we'll be upgrading the the player's profiles. So the player will then be able to to start customizing it a little bit more, maybe with with an icon, maybe with banners, with certain titles um that you'll be able to pick and choose, and you'll be able to to to gain those by doing quests and and it's another form of reward. 00:24:10 - 00:24:35 So all that all that's in the planning hopefully that will that will come in a few months from now. But that that that makes it really interesting where you can you can go and get different different um tags for for your character and players and um hot zones has had a has had is in version two now. 00:24:31 - 00:24:55 That's completely different game play. You now jetpacks are now working um and we have these different gates where you've got to go and claim them to get from one side to the other. So, that that's going through test. I mean, I know we already have one, but this one will be you have a red team versus a blue team. What you have is you go into these worlds with with very few loading screens and you can go in and play these games and then go out and go into another experience. You can come out of rumble ball, then you can go and do an aerot trail and then you can fly over. We've been around in the blockchain space kind of emphasis on Cardano the past four years or so working on building out our tooling. Well, a lot of reasons that just make this, I think, you know, a partnership that we've been looking forward to for a long time where our team is built on doing things different and doing things in a way that we see as an appropriate way of doing things. And we see that there's builders in the space who are building out tooling and building out products that we've been watching for a long time. Like Infinity Rising, one of those that we've kind of looked on with admiration and always said, you know, we'll we'll wait for our time. We'll get there at some point. we'll be able to work together. And what we've focused on at Anvil is making a product that can work anywhere, specifically in games like this. So as a group of gamers ourselves and people who have always been kind of a breast to the Infinity Rising happenings and what's going on always watched it how could we insert our product into that? How can we build tools that work in an ecosystem like this? So I think it's from our side we've thought about this for a long time and thought about how do we build to this type of scenario because that's the future that we see and that's what the type of gaming that we want to have. So >> yeah, well you know and from our side to just reciprocate why and and also for our community why do we want to partner with Anvil and you know the reason in my mind is we have so much well number one you guys are experts and on the cutting edge of anything and everything associated with how to build on Cardano. 00:34:28 - 00:34:49 So your your experience there is uh it really really counts right. Uh, and [clears throat] granted, we have experience there with our small team, but the amount of tech that we need and the things that we have to accomplish is so large that doing it all ourselves just doesn't make sense. 00:34:46 - 00:35:16 It pulls too much resource from the game and all sorts of things. And so, it's like, how do we come up with a partnership? Um, and it's it's also kind of related to this question, which is, you know, why is your conviction so high? The market's struggling. Web 3 gaming is also struggling. It's almost dead. 00:38:19 - 00:38:42 You know, if if you look at what the sentiment is on the web 3 side of things, why do you believe? If I was doing this for the market, I would have quit a long time ago. >> And I think that several on our team kind of share that same sentiment where it's the market's amazing. Everyone's together and the camaraderie and the oh yeah, we're all doing great. Everybody, we're all going to make it. The memes are flowing. Everything's good. But, >> you know, I think that when you look at like why some of us got into this, we saw just a different path for what can be. 00:38:55 - 00:39:17 And that doesn't necessarily mean that's what it's going to be immediately. It means that someone's got to get in there and make that happen. And I think that, you know, if you can vision envision a different path and see a different way of accomplishing a goal or a similar objective or let's solve something better that doesn't hurt people or something that is more powerful, you know, there's an improvement on something. 00:39:13 - 00:39:39 Well, you're going to chase that. You're going to continue to push forward with that mission and that objective regardless of conditions, regardless of market. Um, let's let's talk a little bit about the uh secondary marketplace and and how you guys are how's that moving along. >> Oh, couldn't be more excited on that one. 00:40:48 - 00:41:08 We've got some great progress there. So, one of the things we'll be doing together would be integrating marketplace functionality to the game. So, there's a couple different avenues that we'll approach that from and it won't be all at once, but yeah, I think that the Anvil technology is there to integrate seamlessly. 00:41:03 - 00:41:39 So Anvil built way up which is our marketplace on Cardano and we always intended that WayUp was kind of a a storefront that was easily modularized productized into API endpoints. So our main product at Anvil, our API has endpoints that allow companies, clients to access the things we've built easily. And one of those that we've just finished implementing would be our marketplace endpoints that now allow wayups functionality to be integrated into any game website etc. 00:41:35 - 00:42:00 and branded in that game way. So it's going to be a you know not like a way type environment. It's a Infinity Rising branded experience that's seamless in the game that's all built around these endpoints. So, I'm pretty excited about that as it opens up the doors to be able to buy, sell, trade assets, properties, etc. in the game itself. 00:41:56 - 00:42:22 You don't have to leave that environment to potentially go find your favorite new property, buy that property, build on it, etc. So, opening that up alone, I think, is pretty huge. Um, you know, that's just one of the many things we're working on, but that's a really, really exciting one that's from Anvilside in PR right now to deliver those endpoints over to Infinity Rising. 00:42:18 - 00:42:42 So, as soon as those are done through PR, which I was told Monday at the latest, >> we'll have documentation behind those and we can start to work on actually implementing that stuff. >> Well, Monday doesn't mean that we will have it available to you guys, our community yet. Um, because you know, I think our first intended and and I have to chat with the team and make sure we're all agreed on this, but the first intended use of the second secondary marketplace together is for us to um offer that for the land holders um through the uh the land app that many of you that have participated in the land grab are well aware of. 00:43:02 - 00:43:25 And so I believe that's our first intended use, but there's other ways that we can obviously move forward with that secondary marketplace as well, which is just buying and selling of any of the playerowned assets uh that we have. And um so so I love it. And but you know, there's tons that we can do together. Uh obviously we've talked a lot about the wallet. We've talked about uh NFT minting in game um or PA minting in game. That's one of those things where I told you I'm not sure. We're still looking into uh how that would uh affect things on the Steam platform. But the the main thing here is that we know that a good amount of web 3 infrastructure is needed uh web 3 gaming infrastructure is needed. Um, and for me like I think this is an important thing to bring forward to the Cardano community to help philos facilitate a movement towards uh supporting more games in the Cardano community, not just Cardano, but other other chains as well. 00:44:42 - 00:45:05 We'll we'll take that multi-chain direction with you guys when the time is right. But like that's that's kind of what I'm most excited about is how do we create some some energy uh in this ecosystem around gaming and I think we can do it. That's what'll make >> I think I think what happens is, you know, you know, we built our team up over the years and and and we go, "Oh, you can do that and you can do that and and we eventually make people do everything and and then, you know, they h they have more work than they can do in the next 10 years if I'm honest." So it's it's great to have another team that can just concentrate on maybe just 40 or 50 different features for us. So which frees up our team from from from doing that and then they can work on others. So So for me, I mean it's it's super exciting and and I know that you you guys are also interested in in Midnight as well. So So what we can do with privacy in in the future and your experience with smart contracts and and everything on there.
